Government Jobs
Some state government jobs have very attractive salaries. This makes many people do all they can to see to it that they get such jobs. Apart from this, they are also seen to be more secure and beneficial than jobs in the private sectors. This makes them prestigious and motivating to do.
It also feels better when someone is doing a government job since one feels like it gives them an opportunity to serve their nation. This is contrary to private sector jobs which many people view as only targeting their customers. This makes some individuals in those jobs feel like they are being too local in their services.
Government jobs also are viewed as providing better opportunities for career growth and enhancement. Majority of people in the government jobs are promoted as per their experiences. This implies that the more time you spend working for the government the high the likelihood of you being promoted. This is unlike many private sector jobs where people are promoted as per their performances. This is because many private sector jobs tend to be more result oriented.
It is also a common perception that those in government jobs enjoy more friendly benefits than those in the private sectors. These ranges from retirements and insurance to loans benefits which enable individuals expand their economic plans. Many have used such loans in purchasing mortgages and others for their investment projections.
Government jobs are also very exploratory. Government employees get to meet more people in their line of duty who are from different paces and working environments. These could be dignitaries from other governments who have been sent on official matters. Government employees get time to interact with such professionals gaining more exposure and knowledge to working environments outside their government jobs
Perhaps, the most attractive thing about government jobs is the pension. Many people are always afraid of retirement. This is not because they did not invest their salaries well, but they fear the abrupt discontinuation of their salaries. As such, many people envy the home send off package.
However, some government jobs are very tiring and still have low salaries which makes those with such jobs struggle to pay their mortgage and meet other basic needs. As a result, those with such jobs end up doing more than one job in a day to meet their daily needs. Others work more hours to meet these needs by earning extra money during their over time.
Again, over the recent years, many people even those in the government jobs have been retrenched as a result of economic re-session. This made many people in the government jobs to start worrying and saw many change the perception that government jobs are secure. In deed, many developed the attitude that self employment is more secure and dynamic.
This is because when self employed, you can do more than one task a day and you even choose what to do unlike government jobs which require employees to do fixed tasks. It also fixes time when to report to work and when to leave their working places.
